Animal (2010)
Carte blanche given by the Théâtre Le Public (Bruxelles) to Pietro Pizzuti ; collectively written by Donatienne Cappelle, Catherine Graindorge, Caroline Kempeneers, Magali Pinglaut, Pietro Pizzuti, Virginie Thirion and Laurence Vielle.
A tribute to extinct animals, including ourselves. A zoological farce played by and for 5 humanoids in a cage. A chaotic tragicomedy about the extinction of species caused by mankind and its own impending extinction. To top it all off, a psycho-affective snapshot of the actors.
« ... Subtle, colourful collective writing. A plethora of tones and styles.
It's devilish fun ! » (Roger Simons)

B.U.I.T.E.N. Airlines (2010)
On the eve of his annual leave, Jos Verbeeck, a happy-go-lucky forty-something Belgian with an Olympian physique and an earthy local accent, boards flight 292 of the new Belgian airline, B.U.I.T.E.N. Airlines(Brussels Undercover Intervention Team for Expulsion of Non-natives Airlines), bound for Athens. He is looking forward to his well-earned break in the Cyclades. However, after boarding and getting to the back of the plane to take up his usual seats, he comes face-to-face with two National security agents who are blocking his way. His seats are behind them and seem to have been taken by three men, one of whom is struggling to get free from the grips of two other agents who are holding him down on the ground. The man is whining like a piglet. He is apparently being expelled from Belgian territory and forcibly repatriated. No matter … citizen-holidaymaker Jos Verbeeck has no intention of being bossed around. Nor does he intend to give up his usual seats without a peep.

No holds are barred, including taking questions from viewers. Result: two hours of irresistible television madness. MartO, with her red nose and clad in her rainbow suit, is unstoppable: her sex appeal and professionalism make her untouchable. La résistante / The Resistant (2002)
A woman writes a play about which we know nothing apart from what we learn from the two characters who speak to her: a woman who is one of life’s fighters and a child soldier. The play deals with the issues of war, the violence that is prevalent in men, their propensity to harm each other, as if it were an irreversible illness. The two characters rebel against their author. They accuse her of cowardice because through her writing she gives legitimacy to the passivity of the audience which, like her, has given up any vague attempt at action as they sit comfortably in their seats. They tell her that the theatre cannot change the world; that to believe the opposite is the dream of intellectuals. They refuse to be puppets in an imaginary tragedy. They say that reality is far more horrible than any fiction and that for centuries now the theatre of tragedies has done nothing to inspire peace amongst men. She resists. She says that writing is her way of resisting barbarity. She does not say if it serves any purpose, nor to whom? She no longer knows if it is better to write than to do nothing. Sometimes nothing could get the better of her. But she resists. She is capable of nothing else. She writes.
The characters:
Nourit, the author, the child soldier.

N'être / Birth (2002)
The play and the characters:
In a world where babies walk around eyes open wide taking in exhaust fumes, where soon cloning will replace hugging, where barbarity has been destroying man since time memorial, we still beget children with an unshakeable hope which is searching for the meaning of life. « N’être » is the title of a show that comes to life before your very eyes each evening. There is nothing anyone can do about it - the theatre is a place where everything is created afresh each evening. Since we have been working on this show, Laurence has given birth to a Marilou, Nathalie a Zoé, Cécile a Lucas and Etienne a Morgane, and then a Maël… « N’être » talks about the key stages in life: birth and death. Birth thwarts death and death brings life to a close, one leads to the other, but which of the two signals a start and which an end? A legend explains the origin of the little groove that we all have above our upper lip: from the time he is in his mother’s stomach, a baby knows everything about the world and its secrets; when he is born, great is his desire to tell us everything, but as he opens his mouth an angel appears and places a finger over his lips: shush !* « N’être » is a bit of silence that is broken on a theatre stage, without an ounce of despair, but with a bit of everything else … you will see!
* in « Le bébé est une personne » by Bernard Martino (Éditions J’ai lu)

Sans l'avis du peintre /
Without the artist’s opinion (1984)
The play centres on a painting by Caravaggio, Madonna of the Papal Grooms. The three people depicted in the painting -the mother, the child and the other person- come out of the painting to tell their story. The mother kills a snake with her bare foot in order to protect her son, with the third person looking on. The scene depicted in the painting is relived by the protagonists.
